Coca-Cola Football Account Goes To Connect Marketing
Connect Marketing has announced that the Coca-Cola Football account has been awarded to the agency. The account was awarded to the agency after a well-contested pitch conducted in December, 2008.
Coca-Cola is one of the oldest and most fervent supporters of Nigerian football. The brand has been the most consistent sponsor of the national football teams and the FA Cup (which it dropped recently). Internationally, The Coca-Cola Company is a foremost NFF, FIFA and IOC Partner and it has invested a lot of resources both in the development of the game, and in promoting competitions across the world.
According to Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu, Marketing Manager, Colas, Coca-Cola Nigeria ,'football is the number one platform for the Coca-Cola brand worldwide and we take our involvement with football very serious'
Femi Adelusi, Media and Sponsorship Manager, Coca-Cola Nigeria, stated that "Coca-Cola Nigeria was looking for a partner that could leverage the brand's investment in football and deliver a clear path that will establish a clear return on our investment. We invited a number of companies for the pitch and we finally settled for Connect Marketing.
